We use a range of technologies such as Neutron Probes and EM38’s to provide a comprehensive picture of crop water use and the optimal timing for irrigation.
The Neutron probe allows us to measure moisture levels at a number of depths. This allows us to understand where the roots of a crop are drawing moisture and to anticipate the optimal time for irrigation.
Figure 1. Moisture levels at different depths on multiple dates at one probe site.
The Neutron probe also gives a good indication of the overall moisture available to the plant and at what deficit overall moisture is current at.
Figure 2. Moisture deficits within the crop on a variety of dates.
